The solution to going electric

Our drive systems

WHAT THE UNIT IS IN PRINCIPLE

• Simply an electric engine. This does the same thing as a diesel or petrol inboards, propelling your boat with no fumes and less noise.

• With a power rating displayed in ‘Kw’ instead of the traditional HP. (1 HP = 0.74 Kw)

• Operating forward and reverse gears is the same as an engine the only difference being when in neutral, there is zero RPM unlike an engine which would idle or (tick over)

HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS

LOW VOLTAGE

Our drive units have an operating voltage of 48v this is regarded as low voltage compared to other electric drive units on the market at 300-400v. Safety is a key factor with low voltage systems, especially in the marine world where water is all around.

Our units have 1 DC three-phase motor and is configured to a motor controller that can be programmed specifically to your vessel, depending on lengths, rigs, displacments and usages.

THE FITTING PROCESS

BESPOKE DRIVE KITS

What makes our drive kits unique to others is that it integrates seamlessly with your boats existing hardware. Meaning the alterations needed for a conversion is minimal, you are simply changing your diesel engine for an electric motor and adding batteries instead of fuel. Our kits are able to make use of existing mounts and mounting positions, shaft couplings and throttle controls. All this helps to keep the cost of conversion down.

ONE CENTRAL POWER SOURCE

SIMPLER, MORE MANAGABLE

With conversions big changes are made to the electrical side of the boat through the addition of a 48V battery pack, the primary function of this pack is to run the (traction) or drive motor of the vessel, but given its size and capacity it has more than enough power to run the boats other systems too. Basically the existing electrical gear on the boat can remain unchanged, what normally runs of 12 or 24 volts can still run on that. With a DC-DC converter, the main battery pack can now run the boats system too.

This will effect the state of charge of the main pack and therefore the available range of the boat under electric propulsion. However the ability to run everything of a central power source makes for a simpler more manageable option should the customer desire.
